Costume Ideas for Two
Dressing up like your bestie makes Halloween twice as much fun. If you're a twin, or just want to look like one, here are some great costume ideas for two people.
Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum
The Shining Twins
This is one of the creepier costumes for two people. You'll need:
* Two matching dresses
* Barrettes
* White Knee Socks
* Black shoes
* Matching Wigs or Hairstyles
* Fake Blood (optional)
For maximum effect, make sure to walk around holding hands and asking people to "Come play with us."

Thing One and Thing Two
Bring a little Dr. Seuss to Halloween with classic characters from "The Cat in the Hat." All you'll need is
- Red jumpsuits or onesie pajamas. Add large nametags in the middle marked "Thing One" and "Thing Two"
- Blue wigs combed straight up
- red gloves (optional)
Spy vs. Spy
"Spy vs. Spy" has been appearing in Mad Magazine since 1961. These iconic characters have never been out of style and now, with the emergence of the hilarious "Mad TV" show and their own rumored live-action film, they are still on the radar. Get the entire costume (all you'll need to add are white gloves and black shoes) or just the accessories kit and dress yourself.
A Pair of Dice
Finding the right thing to wear on Halloween is always dice-y. (Clever, right?) You and your significant other can go as a matched pair and have an original costume for once.
- Cover a box in white or red fabric using spray adhesive
- Add large black circles cut out of felt

Costume Ideas for Three
What's more fun than two? Why three of course! Here are some great costumes for a trio.
Three Little Pigs
Fairy tale characters are always a good choice for Halloween. You can do basic pigs, or follow the story more closely and add details for Straw Pig, Wood Pig and Brick Pig. Oh, and remember to look out for the Big Bad Wolf. For the basic costume you'll need:
- pink sweatshirts and sweatpants
- pig snouts (available from most costume shops)
- pig ears (also at costume shops)
Sometimes the ears are tricky to find. You can make your own by adding pieces of pink felt to a headband.
Three Blind Mice
There are several different ways to adopt this costume, as long as you're all dressed alike. You could all wear gray sweatshirts and sweatpants, all black clothing or all white. The key to pulling it off is the accessories:
* Mouse noses
* Mouse ears
* Sunglasses
* White Canes or walking sticks
* Tail
What is the best kind of Halloween costume?
Costume Ideas for Four or More
If you've got four people, it's a party. No matter whether you are dressing up with the family, hanging out with a group of friends or celebrating with your entire office, these costumes will have you ready in a snap.
Monster Mash
Bring together characters from Universal's classic monster movies for a truly horror-ific evening. (I just can't seem to help myself.) Some ideas to consider...
- Dracula
- Wolfman
- Frankenstein
- Hunchback of Notre Dame
- The Mummy
- The Invisible Man
- Creature from the Black Lagoon
- Phantom of the Opera
The Wizard of Oz
There's nothing like taking a trip to Oz in these perennial Halloween favorites. Bring along the whole gang - Dorothy, Scarecrow, Cowardly Lion, Tin Man - and Toto, too. I once had a little black dog that I tried to carry as part of my Dorothy costume. She was less than cooperative. If you opt for this, go with stuffed!
The Addams Family
Mix and match your favorite members of this most macabre family.
- Gomez - striped suit and mustache
- Morticia - long black wig and long black dress
- Uncle Fester - monks robe and pale make-up
- Cousin it - hair, and lots of it
- Wednesday - black dress with white collar, long black braids
- Pugsley - striped shirt and black shorts
- Lurch - black suit, cropped hair, deathly stare
The Muppets
Everything old is new again. The Muppets made their most recent comeback in November 2011, followed by last year's "Muppets Most Wanted." Find your rainbow connection in these great costumes. If you don't want to make your own, many are available for purchase. Look for Kermit, Gonzo, Animal, Fozzie and, of course, Miss Piggy.
